Givingwithlax Our Mission – #GIVINGWITHLAX

Who is behind #GivingWithLAX?

Grayson (Gray) is currently in 8th Grade. He has been playing lacrosse since late 2018 for his local high school feeder teams and a summer travel program. He plays Midfield, LSM and Defense. Grayson has 2 younger siblings that also play lacrosse. Grayson routinely helps the younger players and has been an honorary coach in the past. He also enjoys volunteering with local organizations who help kids he plays for. He enjoys showing people the sport and spreading the word about lacrosse as he tries to bring awareness to his #GivingwithLAX project.

What Is #GivingWithLAX?

Our mission is to raise awareness for youth and students who typically would not be able to play a traditional sport due to a physical or mental disability or other challenges. This is done by playing in honor of that person, profiling the student’s daily life, hobbies, achievements and challenges related to what makes them different in weekly social media posts. We also try to bring awareness of ways the community can help or donate to people in similar positions.

How does #GivingWithLAX work?

Each week a new person will be featured on our social media accounts and be that week’s honorary player. Grayson will wear this person’s initials on his helmet to honor and recognize them. This will symbolize the person on the field and being part of the team. This person and their family will be invited to come and watch a practice and/or game if they would like to participate. Our hope is to have others share what we are doing to help in raising awareness for those in the community. Just as important, learn how they can be involved in such an amazing initiative.
